MSc Clinical Audiologist
My journey with Audiology started at the age of five, when like many children I was fitted with grommets to treat glue ear associated hearing loss.
I later experienced pressure trauma from diving and ended up with long standing perforations in both eardrums. Regular visits to my Audiologist inspired me to embark on my own career in Audiology. After completing a Biosciences Degree at the University of Birmingham I completed an MSc in Audiological Science at the renowned Institute of Sound and Vibration research in Southampton, followed by a clinical training program in the NHS.
I worked in several different settings including the NHS and in private audiology services for nearly 14 years and although I enjoyed it, time and resources were often restricted. Continuity of care and time available to spend with patients could be limited and it was rare to be able to see a patient throughout their entire hearing journey.
